Lava occurs naturally deep underground in the Lava Cave, but it can also be moved around your factory by using the Cinder process.
Overview
Lava can be trapped inside Filters and will ignite pixels that pass over it, if they are able to burn. This is useful for automating factories, such as auto-burning Residue into Burnt Residue or burning Flowers.
Mechanics
Lava can be frozen into Scoria by combining it with Snow, such as from a Cryoblaster. Destroying the Scoria produces Cinder, which can be carried by a Grabber or moved on Conveyor Belts and Launchers. Igniting Cinder turns it back into Lava.
Tips
By filling a Filter with Cinder and igniting it, you can trap Lava wherever you need it. Place a solid block below the Filter, fill it with Cinder, then ignite. If the Filter is completely full of Lava and Residue is moved over it, the Residue touching the Filter will ignite and turn into Burnt Residue.
When Water lands on Lava, the Water evaporates into Steam. The amount of Lava does not decrease.
