What is Sandustry?
Sandustry is a factory automation sandbox developed by Lantto Games and published by Hooded Horse. Every pixel in the world is a physical object: sand absorbs water, ice melts under heat, seeds bloom into flowers, and raw ore can be refined into gold and energy.
The game blends the automation depth of Factorio with the emergent pixel physics of Noita. You will build conveyor webs, pipe networks, drone logistics, and production chains across a fully destructible procedural planet.
Since its Early Access launch in August 2026, Sandustry has drawn thousands of players into its sand-powered factories. The Steam release date marked the start of a roughly one-year Early Access roadmap, with regular patches adding new buildings, materials, and quality-of-life improvements based on community feedback.
On this Sandustry wiki you will find a complete beginner guide, detailed building pages such as the Processing Plant and Slag Burner, a materials database covering Water, Lava, Fluxite and more, plus curated Sandustry maps and mods to extend your playtime.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions About Sandustry
What is Sandustry?
Sandustry is a pixel physics factory automation game developed by Lantto Games and published by Hooded Horse. Every pixel in the world is simulated: sand falls, water flows, ice melts, and ore can be refined into valuable resources. You build conveyor belts, pipes, pumps, drones, and production chains across a fully destructible procedural planet.
When is the Sandustry release date?
Sandustry entered Steam Early Access in August 2026. The full 1.0 release is planned after roughly one year of updates, depending on feedback and feature roadmap.
Is there a Sandustry demo?
Yes. A free Sandustry demo is available on Steam and includes a limited slice of the early game. It is the best way to test performance and learn the core mechanics before buying the full version.
Where can I download Sandustry?
You can download Sandustry from Steam, GOG, and PC Game Pass. We link the official stores from our store page. Avoid unofficial sites claiming to offer a Sandustry torrent or cracked copy, as they can contain malware.
Does Sandustry support Russian?
Yes. Sandustry ships with official Russian interface and subtitles. Russian-speaking players do not need a third-party localization patch; just select Russian in the language settings.
How do I build a Processing Plant in Sandustry?
The Processing Plant is the backbone of most sand-to-gold setups. A typical early chain runs sand through a Shaker, burns the residue in a Slag Burner, presses the result in a Kinetic Press, and routes water to Planter Boxes. Our dedicated Processing Plant guide breaks the ratios down step by step.
What is the Slag Burner in Sandustry?
The Slag Burner converts Residue into Burnt Residue, a denser fuel and crafting component. It is one of the most searched Sandustry buildings because new players often wonder how to dispose of production waste efficiently.
Are there mods for Sandustry?
Yes. Sandustry supports mods through Steam Workshop and the Fluxloader mod manager. The community has released map packs, quality-of-life tweaks, texture packs, content expansions, and multiplayer helpers. Our mods page lists the most popular options with install instructions.
How do I remove haulers in Sandustry?
Haulers are drone-like logistics units that carry items between buildings. You can remove haulers by selecting the relevant tool and clicking them, or by breaking the building they are assigned to. Our Hauler tool page explains the exact controls and common pitfalls.
Where can I find Sandustry maps and blueprints?
Custom Sandustry maps are shared on Steam Workshop and community Discords. Our maps page explains how the in-game map and minimap work, plus how to install and play community map mods.
